Leonis ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we handle data when you use the Leonis Book Catalogue application.

Data Collection

Leonis is designed with privacy in mind. The application operates entirely locally on your machine:

No data is transmitted to our servers — we have no servers
All data is stored locally in a SQLite database on your computer
No account registration is required to use the application
No analytics or tracking code is included in the software

Third-Party API Usage

When you look up an ISBN, Leonis fetches metadata from the Open Library API. This request is made directly from your computer to Open Library's servers. We do not intercept, store, or have access to these API requests. Open Library's data practices apply to these requests.

Local Data Storage

All book data you enter or import is stored in a SQLite database file (default: leonis.db) on your local filesystem. You have complete control over this data:

You can delete the database file at any time to remove all data
You can backup the database file as you see fit
The application does not sync or transmit this data anywhere

Session Logs

Leonis creates local session logs (stored in ~/.local/share/leonis/log/) for debugging purposes. These logs contain operational information such as:

ISBNs looked up
Database operations performed
Application events and errors

Logs are stored only on your local machine and are not transmitted to us.

Cookies and Tracking

The Leonis application does not use cookies, web beacons, or any tracking technologies.

Leonis is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
